Martin M. Matzuk, MD PhDResearch & Development

Dr. Matzuk is a Founder and Manager of Twister Biotech. He holds the Stuart A. Wallace Chair and Robert L. Moody, Sr. Chair in Pathology and Immunology and is the Director of the Center for Drug Discovery at Baylor College of Medicine. He is Professor in the Departments of Pathology and Immunology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Molecular and Human Genetics, and Pharmacology. As treasurer for the Society for the Study of Reproduction, Dr. Matzuk helped to increase its endowment from under $2M to over $3M over a 3-year period. Dr. Matzuk’s start in science and first three publications (including a 1985 Cell paper) were with Dr. Nicholas Cozzarelli, one of the masters of DNA structure/function. A member of the National Academy of Sciences, Dr. Matzuk, has published over 300 papers over his 25 years at Baylor College of Medicine. He in an inventor on a dozen patents and has a highly successful therapeutic product on the market.
